Background

Oliver Plöckinger has worked as a lawyer for SAXINGER since 2009 and as managing partner since 2012. He also spent his traineeship as an associate at SAXINGER, between 2006 and 2009.

Even during his law degree course between 1991 and 1996, Oliver Plöckinger had already started his research career at Johannes Kepler University in Linz at the Institute for Criminal Law, Criminal Law Proceedings and Criminology, chair of Professor emeritus Dr. Diethelm Kienapfel, and initially “crowned” this with his dissertation in February 2001 (title: “Der Erschöpfungsgrundsatz im Marken- und Urheberrecht” (“The principle of exhaustion in trademark and copyright law”) and ultimately in March 2006 with his professorial dissertation in the subjects of criminal law and criminal law proceedings (title: “Raubkopie und Kunstfälschung” (“Pirate copy and the forging of art”).

During his work at Johannes Kepler University in Linz, Oliver Plöckinger had two scholarship stays, each lasting several months, at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition Law and Fiscal Law in Munich.

Oliver Plöckinger has succeeded in securing a place on the shortlist following his recent application for the professorship of white collar criminal law and compliance at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz.
