Background
After completing his degree at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz and his traineeship as a lawyer at a renowned Upper Austrian law firm, Ernst Chalupsky has worked as a lawyer in Wels since 1982. Until the merger with Saxinger & Baumann to form SAXINGER in 2000, he established the law firm Chalupsky & Gumpoldsberger together with Dr. Maximilian Gumpoldsberger. In 1996/1997, he completed his Master’s degree in European and International Commercial Law at the University of St. Gallen.

Ernst Chalupsky advises on company law and on M&A transactions, for example, on the acquisition of companies as a result of a crisis or insolvency. He has many years of experience as an advisor in crisis situations, and as an advisor to creditors, in particular to banks, in a debt crisis. Furthermore, he has previously acted as an insolvency administrator.
In addition to regular publications, Ernst Chalupsky is also a speaker on insolvency and restructuring law on an ongoing basis. After many years working as a university lecturer on corporate restructuring, he has been a lecturer for the Master’s degree course in crisis and restructuring management at Kufstein University of Applied Sciences since 2006.
For many years, Ernst Chalupsky has been a member of the supervisory board of various companies, some of which are listed on the stock exchange, and has served on the management board of some family foundations.
